This impeccable piece of 1960s unlabelled French Couture set in textured silk fabric is of exceptional quality and exquisite construction. The soft abstracted floral design in cobalt blue, ultramarine, turquoise, navy and forest green is slightly embossed with a mottled texture adding to the luxurious feel of the thick silk overlay. The chic city silhouette exhibits magnificent tailoring to achieve a 1950s style point on each breast, a central panel over the front to flatter the navel area, and a beautiful cut over the curve of the hip. The debutante neckline is supported by 1" thick straps with a central zip fastening at the reverse. The bodice is embellished at the reverse with 2 x wide ribbon straps in matching fabric which are stitched between the shoulder blades and meet at the zip with hook and eye fastenings. The straight skirt finishes at the mid calf and like the bodice, is fully lined in soft navy blue silk. Both the hem of the skirt and the neckline are beautifully finished in hand rolled silk ribbon piping of pale blue. The matching jacket is also silk lined, with three quarter length sleeves and finishes at the the waistline, where it is subtly tailored. A gentle V neckline is formed when the jacket is worn closed. The central button stand hosts 4 x unique buttons 1.5 " in diameter and comprised of matching silk fabric skilfully hand rolled into a spiral design. A truly exceptional piece of couture, would best suit US size 4-6, UK size 8-10.
